“The Mothers Who Never Forgot:” An Online Talk by Dr. Margaret Ward + Q&A
On February 26, 2025, acclaimed historian Dr. Margaret Ward, author of Unmanageable Revolutionaries and Maud Gonne’s biographer, will give a presentation, followed by a Q&A.
She'll cover the lesser-known, yet deeply significant, chapters of Gonne’s life – her political activism post-1916 as a widow and mother, her role in calling the new Irish Free State and Republic to account for injustices, and her transformation to a peacemaker and pacifist freedom fighter.
