You Are Invited

#WW #writerwednesday #ALLIA.

It's all go around here, preparing to launch the ALLIANCE OF INDEPENDENT AUTHORS in London, Dublin, Florida — and online.

I'd like to invite you to one or more of the following (free) events.

The London bash is the ‘official' launch of the Alliance on Wed April 18th at 10am to noon. We're having two Q&A panels. The first Ask The Associates, chaired by our advisor Joanna Penn, will see Amazon, Kobo and Blurb, three of the biggest companies supporting independent authors answer our questions.

After that, it's Ask The Authors. Three fabulous independent authors (two previously published by trade publishers) will explain ‘How I Went Indie — And Why‘.

That panel will be chaired by Sam Missingham of The Bookseller and she'll be talking to Linda Gillard, Don Holloway and NYTimes bestseller, Joni Rodgers.

I am excited to have hooked up with these great indie authors — and so appreciate them coming from afar to help us launch the Alliance: Dan from Oxford, Linda from Scotland and Joni all the way from Texas.

Our Dublin event is less formal and organised through We're getting together at 6.30pm at  The Library Bar, Central Hotel, Exchequer St on Tuesday 24th of April, to set up the Dublin Chapter of the Alliance, which will then host a regular monthly get together.  Sign up HERE

Lynda Haviland, our new community co-ordinator is organising the first meeting of the Florida Chapter soon at The Drunken Monkey Coffee Bar. Details to follow.

Can't make it to London or Dublin? No worries, we'll be having an equally fantastic event online on Sunday May 15th, hosted by  Further details on that one are pending too but if you know you can come, do RSVP here and Shindig will email full details soon.

You don't have to be a writer to take an interest in the launch of the Alliance or the changes that are happening in publishing. It is opening up a whole new world for readers too, who are also invited to help us celebrate and get our show on the road.

Hope to see you soon.

ps. Members of the Alliance get a three-day ticket for the Book Fair for £10 (normal cost £45).  We also have a few to spare for Orna Ross blog subscribers. First three people to email me get one.
