My Creative Week: The Power of Creative Focus: On Creative Retreat

It’s rare for me to do one thing only but this week I’ve been enjoying a writing retreat and feeling the power of creative focus.

My Creative Week: Week 33, Q3, 2019: The Power of Creative Focus

Time to log our creative accomplishments for week 33 2019, ending Sat 17th August.

My Maker had it all her own way this week, with Manager and Marketer taking a back seat as I was on writing retreat finishing a new poetry book (pictured, publishing in October).

Though they did sneak through a few ideas that may well become intentions in coming weeks.

My week was productive. I got the book finished, ready to prepare the audiobook now.

Then I worked on an upcoming novel (of which more next Friday, in the Friday fiction slot).

And–unexpected and unplanned–a poem arrived, that I put on Instagram as it happened, together with a black-and-white picture of Slade, the little village on the power of creative focusHook Penninsula where I was staying.

What about you, how was your creative week?

What have you been producing, processing and promoting in your creative business? Do tell — and share a pic or video too, of your works completed or in progress, in our Go Creative! in Business group.

In the group each Monday we outline our creative intentions to each other.

Then we follow up on a Saturday with what we’ve actually accomplished during the week.

What’s unique about our group is that our report is given under the three hats a creative entrepreneur must wear: that of Maker (who produces), Manager (who processes) and  Marketer (who promotes).
