The Most Creative Answer: Monday Motivator Week 22, 2019

The theme for our Monday Motivator 2019 Week 22 is The Most Creative Answer. But first: the coming week’s creative intentions.

Monday Motivator Week 22 2019: Creative Intentions

Big Creative Question

In our Go Creative! in Business group, each Monday we outline our creative intentions to each other. And then we follow up on a Saturday with what we’ve actually accomplished during the week. What’s unique about our group is that our report is given under the three hats a creative entrepreneur must wear: that of Maker (who produces), Manager (who processes) and Maximizer (who promotes).

Here are my creative intentions for this week, wearing my three hats.

  • MAKER (Producing): Finish recording the poetry audiobooks. Planner to final layout.
  • MANAGER (Processing): Finalize Poetry Open Mic process and newsletter/ Patreon. How do these all fit together–and with other podcast changes at ALLi.
  • MAXIMIZER (Positioning): It’s time for me to explore Bookbub ads. Reading David Gaughran’s book and making plans.

That’s what I’ll be up to. What about you? What will you be producing (Maker), processing (Manager) or promoting (Maximizer) this week? Do pop over to our Go Creative! in Business Facebook group, where we support and motivate each other. It’s completely free, there’s no selling or self-promotion, and you can leave anytime if it isn’t the right fit for you.

You’ve nothing to lose and it may be just the creative boost you need.

Monday Motivator Theme Week 22 2019: The Most Creative Answer

Religion claims to know the truth but the truth is none of us knows anything for sure, beyond the fact of life. We are alive.

All else–including what happens when we’re not–is notional. Feelings, hunches, suppositions, intuitions, convictions: our answers to the never-ending questions of life.

Tea, coffee or orange juice?  Straight, gay or poly? Salaried, freelance or entrepreneur? Sometimes we choose our answers. Sometimes the answers choose us.

Creative knowing knows this: that whatever we think, feel, suppose or intuit, the question is the context for all the answers.

Every question is bigger than its answers.

Back in 1903, in the kindest book a mentor ever wrote for an aspiring creative, Letters to a Young Poet, Rainer Maria Rilke, spelled out what it is to be a CE. It’s all about living the questions.

I would like to beg you, dear Sir, as well as I can, to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and to try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms, or books written in a very foreign language.

Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given to you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything.

Live the questions now.

Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer.

RM Rilke, Letters To A Young Poet

Sometimes the most creative answer is to live the question.
