This week's inspirational poetry: The Power of Now. A poem inspired by Eckhart Tolle.
I'm inspired by creativity in all corners of the world but especially in nature, most especially London parks, the woods and beaches of East Sussex and, of course, Ireland. You'll find lots of poetry here on the blog and you can support me to write more, including some exclusively for you, on patreon (see below).
Inspirational Poetry: The Power of Now
The talkers talk
of leaving or remaining
who should go, what cannot stay
who’s right, what’s wrong
where's goodness gone? Too
many old, the lawless young,
we’re bound to pay, we’ll come undone
the planet’s doomed, the coming bomb.
~~~
I close my ears
to third-hand tales
I feed no more
on skeletons, I find my mind
Lulled in the swelling of now,
buoyed by the welling of now,
washed in the wavings of now,
swirling in the surge of now, I find
the young who never built more than they make
now
the old who never garnered more than they reap
now
the world at play around me
the world at rest within me
with just one thing to do before me,
I am
I find, I am creator, here, of all
creation, my creation: now.
I am found within
the peace that never held more than it presides
now
the goodness that never grew more than it grows
now
And that goodness knows we're all as welcome
as we ever were, here, in the holy hold of now.
