Act As If It Were Impossible To Fail

I'm a great fan of Dorothea Brande's Becoming A Writer. It was the first writing book I ever read and had a big impact on me.

I recently stumbled across her Wake Up & Live on Amazon and am struck by how well she fits today self-help landscape.

My favourite quote from the book:

“Act as if it were impossible to fail… This is the talisman, the formula, the command of right-about-face which turns us from failure towards success.”

That's the kind of reminder I need right now.imgres

I had a tight deadline to finish my first Yeats book, Her Secret Rose, in time for the launch at the Yeats summer school in August. So what did I do?

Decided to add on an extra challenge — to produce another title, that would conjoin my book with Yeats's stories, The Secret Rose.

And in a special edition, with laid paper, gilt binding and sky-high production values.

I don't know. These are the crazy things creativists do!

And I'm doing it.

It's impossible to fail.
