Tech-powered Authors and the Future of Publishing
April 19 @ 10:00 am - 10:45 am
How books are written and produced, consumed and shared has changed more rapidly in the last decade than the centuries since Gutenberg. The next decade will bring even more exponential change. What does this mean for independent authors and other micro-publishers?
Three advisors to the Alliance of Independent Authors offer answers and guidelines.
The session will be chaired by Orna Ross, director of the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLI), who will address concerns around copyright, ethics, author empowerment, and the future of the book. Author-publisher and futurist Joanna Penn will give recommendations for the best generative AI tools for writing and marketing books, while Ethan Ellenberg, president of the NYC based Ethan Ellenberg Agency will offer the literary agent’s perspective.
