This is a post I wish I didn't have to write. As you may already know, my mother was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain aneurysm.
The medics have explained that this lesion will eventually rupture and bleed, ending her life — but they can’t say when.
It could be days, weeks, or even months.
In this uncertain and precious time, I want to be fully present — to spend time in Ireland, make sure the right care and support are in place for her and our family, and be with her as much as possible.
I’m sorry to say that this means a delay to the delivery of all my projects including the two Gonne-Yeats books, A Life Before (novel) and A Crowd of Stars (poetry).
And the Maud Gonne Society and statue project, including the fundraising creative retreat we had planned at Rossnaree House, are on hold for now also.
I know some of you were looking forward to the planned publications and retreat next month, and I thank you in advance for your patience and understanding. I'm still 100% committed to delivering everything, albeit on a slightly longer timeline than originally planned.
