Happy September 2024 Dear Readers

Does anyone else feel like September is the true beginning of the year? While January may bring resolutions and fresh new year on the calendar, for me, September always seems to be the time when things really start moving. I suppose it's years of school and college habit energy.

After a restful August, I’m back and sooooooo ready to dive into the creative projects that have been brewing. I can’t wait to share them with you.

Introducing My New Poetry Collection: Night Light

I’ll be working on a new edition of my poetry book, Night Light: Poems for Bereavement and Other Hard Times. This collection explores the deep emotions that come with loss and grief and has been challenging to write.  But poetry has a unique ability to console, the best way of expressing what feels inexpressible.

Alongside the book, I’ll be hope to create a special poetry kit for bereavement counsellors and humanist celebrants–suggesting ways to bring the healing power of poetry into their important work.

More details on that soon.

Go Creative! Opening Up to Everyone

The other big excitement this month is a significant change I'm planning to my Go Creative! Planning Program. Until now, it has been specifically tailored to authors, but starting this fall, I’m excited to expand it to everyone.

Not just creators of all kinds but everyone who wants to apply the creative process to anything in life.

In addition, I’m launching a facilitator program in February 2025 for those who want to guide others on this creative way of understanding, experiencing, and guiding life.

I’ll be spending the next few months preparing for this, and I’m completely energized by the possibilities. If you’ve ever thought about becoming a creative mentor or coach, keep an eye out for more information.

Indie Poetry Please is Back

After a hiatus we’re returning with more powerful, independent voices from the poetry world. This space is for all of you who love words, who find solace in verse, and who believe in the unique beauty of independent poetry.

If you’ve got poems to share, or if you’re looking to discover fresh, evocative work, keep an eye out for upcoming features, submissions, and events. Whether you're a seasoned poet or just starting to experiment with your words, we’d love to hear from you.

I hope this September brings you new beginnings and creative inspiration, and I look forward to sharing more of the journey with you in the months ahead.

With love and creativity,
Orna
