Whitelisting an email ensures that emails from a specific sender don't end up in your spam or junk folder, but instead arrive in your main inbox. (It's a good idea to check your email inbox regularly anyway. Sometimes, our email overlords are not good at detecting wanted mail.)
The process varies depending on your email provider or client. Here are instructions for some of the most popular email services and clients:
1. Gmail:
a. Open Gmail and navigate to your Spam folder. b. Locate any email from Orna Ross. c. Right-click on the email and choose “Not spam”. d. Now, open the email. e. Click on the three dots (More options) beside the reply button. f. Click on “Add Orna Ross to Contact list”.
2. Yahoo Mail:
a. Open an email from Orna Ross. b. Click on the sender's email address at the top. c. Click “Add to contacts”. d. Click “Save”.
3. Microsoft Outlook (Web Version):
a. Open the email from Orna Ross. b. Right-click on the sender's name at the top. c. Click “Add to Favorites”.
4. Microsoft Outlook (Desktop Version):
a. Open the email from Orna Ross. b. Right-click on the junk email and choose “Junk” from the drop-down menu. c. Now, select “Never Block Sender”.
5. Apple Mail (MacOS):
a. Open an email from Orna Ross. b. In the top menu, click on “Mail”, then “Preferences”. c. Go to the “Rules” tab. d. Click “Add Rule”. e. Describe the rule so you can recognize it — for example, “Whitelist: Orna Ross”. f. Set the conditions to “From” “Contains” and then the email address of Orna Ross. g. Set the actions to “Move message” to “Inbox”. h. Click “Ok”.
6. AOL Mail:
a. Open an email from Orna Ross. b. Click on the sender's name and email address. c. Click “Add to Address Book”. d. Click “Save”.
The exact wording and options may differ slightly based on the version of the software or service you're using.
Also, if you use a different email client or provider than those listed above, you can typically find similar options in the settings, preferences, or options menus.
Do regularly check your spam or junk folder to make sure you're not missing out on wanted emails, even if you've set up whitelisting.
